In Ecclesiastes 3, we learn there is: “A time for everything.”

“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven””

– Ecclesiastes 3:1

Time is short

Our time here is short. Only God knows when our time here will end.

“A time to give birth and a time to die;”

– Ecclesiastes 3:2b

Give birth to a new spirit in Christ.

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

– 2 Corinthians 5:17

Time to forgive

Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is:

“… a time to heal;”

– Ecclesiastes 3:3b

In this brief period of time we spent on this earth, we need to learn to forgive.

Scripture tells us:

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

– Colossians 3:13

We need to heal the wounds that separate us from others. Time does heal all wounds, but that only comes with forgiveness. Make time to forgive before you don’t have any time left to do so.

Time to change your heart

“A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away.”

– Ecclesiastes 3:6

Make time to search for righteousness by seeking God.

Jesus said…

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

– Matthew 6:33

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

– Matthew 7:7-8

Some people will never see God. There comes a time when you need to separate yourself from such company before you risk becoming lost yourself. You need to let go of such acquaintances, let go of your former life and seek a life in Christ.

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”

– 2 Corinthians 6:14
