Was This Biblical End-Time Prophecy Fulfilled in 2021?

Our signs the Bible instructs the faithful to look for beginning to come to pass? Some are suggesting that a major biblical end-time prophecy was fulfilled in 2021. Is this true? A look at the speculation and evidence.

Another “the end is near” hoax or are events really occurring?

“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,”

–2 Thessalonians 2:3

“The end is near” has been proclaimed by so many throughout history that it has become a running joke along the lines of fictitious stories of “the boy who cried wolf” and “Chicken Little” with “the sky is falling.” For this reason, most people scoff anytime someone suggests the end times have started.

The disciples asked Jesus how to determine what was true.

“As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. ‘Tell us,’ they said, ‘when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?'”

“Jesus answered: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.'”

– Matthew 24:3-5

Jesus later added:

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.”

– Mark 13:32-33

However, the Bible gives us many indications, and Jesus himself said there would be “birth pains” as signs that the time is nearing.

Was a biblical end-time prophecy fulfilled this year?

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.”

– 1 Timothy 4:1-2

Last week, the YouTube channel Lion of Judah released a video entitled: “This Biblical End-Time Prophecy Was FULFILLED THIS YEAR, But People Don’t Realise It.”

One Bible chapter in particular that Lion of Judah pointed out was 1 Timothy 4, as shown above. This may have been fulfilled years earlier and shows no sign of reversing at present.

Does a new study provide proof?

Nonetheless, research released at the end of December 2021 shows that the number of people departing the faith is increasing and is speeding up.

A Pew Research Center study released in mid-December 2021 on the religious composition of the United States showed American adults who identify as Christian are declining at roughly 1% per year, dropping 15% in the past fifteen years. The number of self-identifying Christians in the US in 2021 was 63%, down from 78% in 2007.

The number of Americans professing no religion increased to 29% – nearly 1/3 – in 2021, up from 16% in 2007.

Only 41% said religion was “very important” in their life, compared to 56% in 2007.

A third, 33%, of Americans, said religion was “not too/not at all” important to their lives, more than doubling from 16% in 2007.
